In this video, practice the signs for MOTHER, FATHER, DAUGHTER, SON, SISTER, BROTHER, and so on. You'll notice that female signs tend to be signed at chin-level, and male signs at the temple/forehead. You may see some variation in these signs, particularly with respect to starting handshape (given the compound sign history explained in the video).
