Blues Guitar Scales For Beginners | Blues Pentatonic Scales Guitar Lesson
🔥http://www.willripleyguitar.com/rip-it-up ⬅️⬅️ Watch THIS video to discover the MISSING PIECE of the puzzle to getting your guitar playing sounding polished and pro.
Here’s a beginner guitar lesson on an essential scale, the Blues Scale. We’re gonna cover the 2 most common keys for guitar music, E minor and A minor Blues Scale!
All we gotta do is add one note to our minor pentatonic. Once we do that, it becomes the Blues Scale. Even though it is called the Blues Scale, it is definitely not just used in the blues. The blues scale can be heard everywhere from jazz to rock to pop. So, use this tool to express yourself on the instrument. Just like all of your favourite guitar players did.
The pentatonic scale is the easiest scale to use. It is a perfect scale. It only contains 5 notes. Most scales used in western music contain 7 notes. The Pentatonic Scale is easy to use because any combination of any notes in the scale sounds pleasant together. You have to learn how to use the Blue note, because it’s different than any of the other notes in the pentatonic scale. You have to use the Blues note as a passing tone. This means if you just play blue note over and over without playing any other notes, it might sound a bit weird! Use it to “color up” the pentatonic scale.
You can make some serious magic happen with these two scales. Although it’s a little difficult at first, try to improvise and make your own blues music! Just “Noodling” around with these scales by yourself is actually really important for your development as a guitarist. Some players have made a career out of doing just that!
Make sure you are rocking the correct fingering for these. Scales double as technique builders, but only if you use the correct fingerings. Using alternate picking whenever you are playing scales is another easy way to improve your technique.
