Our goat kids get lots of attention from many local (human) kids who look forward each year to coming to the farm when their family buys cheese. This makes them super friendly and relaxed with people. From the start, we know who each one is and call them by name. They each have unique personalities and coloring so it is easy to tell them apart. Farming can be hard work, so we try to make time each day to just play and enjoy our good fortune to have so many incredible animals with such distinct personalities.
This goat baby named Nutmeg is a real character. She greets me every morning outside the barn. She can jump out of every stall and proudly walks along the dividers. Goats are sassy creatures who believe boundaries are made for breaking. Great role models.
