3D Prints, Retro Games & Convention Walkthrough: Setup at Illinois Game Con 2026
It is officially setup night at the 2026 Illinois Game Con, and it feels absolutely incredible to be back. Tonight, I am giving you a very special behind-the-scenes, real-quick look at everything that is going on as we get locked and loaded for tomorrow morning’s massive event.
Clearing Out the Game Room & Retro Pickups
First up, let’s take a look at my booth for the weekend. I am using this convention as a great opportunity to clear out the game room and part ways with some stuff that I just don't use anymore, haven't used in a while, or have finally found other uses for. For example, I’ve got a Sega Flashback system up there that I am trying to get rid of. I am also getting rid of my original OEM Nintendo 64 game storage containers. Why? Because I have designed and 3D printed my own custom N64 storage solutions on my Bambu Lab and Creality printers, and quite honestly, they work so much better for my physical media collection that I just don't need the originals anymore!
Custom 3D Printed Gaming Accessories & Designs
Speaking of 3D printing, I have brought an absolute mountain of custom prints with me this year. I’ve got some extra controllers on the table, plus my highly requested 48-count, 16-count, and 8-count Game Boy game holders, along with my custom wall-mount storage racks for Nintendo Switch games.
One of my absolute favorite new designs this year is a massive storage case that looks exactly like a giant Game Boy cartridge, but it is actually designed to hold four real Game Boy games inside! Now, I have seen other versions of this concept from other makers out there, but the problem is there's never a way to easily get your games in and out. I intentionally designed a smart removal mechanism into this one, making it incredibly easy to use.
I’ve also completely changed up some of my designs for this year. To make room, we are blowing out the older designs at a massive discount—just 15 bucks each or three for $30. And I mean, with prices like that, sometimes you do just need to get a life (pun totally intended).
New Art, Wrestling Tributes & Pop Culture Prints
As for the brand-new designs debuting at this year's show, I am incredibly excited to show off the Diskun. This is the very first show where that will be available! Being a massive wrestling fan, I was thinking, thinking, thinking, and I had to make some custom wrestling tributes. So, we have an awesome piece honoring the Macho Man Randy Savage—Oh yeah! And then, of course, you've got the Hulkster, Brother! I also designed a logo that is very nice, very evil—shoutout to Danhausen!
Moving down the table, I’ve got a really cool wall-mounted display for the Voltron crest. I absolutely love how the Robot Series design turned out. I’ve also manufactured some brand-new GameCube signs and custom LED light displays. There is even a cool little racing tribute to the #8 Kyle Busch car for my fellow NASCAR fans out there.
I have also completely changed up the Nintendo Entertainment System logos compared to what I’ve done in years past. Instead of just doing the standard oval shape, I went ahead and created a much cleaner monogram style. We also have a highly nostalgic Blockbuster Video sign as well.
But perhaps my three absolute favorite new pieces on the table are the Light Gun Series display, the classic Arcade series, and a tribute to the biggest jerk in all of video game history: the laughing dog from Duck Hunt!
Walking the Convention Floor
Taking a quick walk around the convention floor during setup, I spotted some incredible things already. Someone is selling the legendary Singer Sewing Machine attachment for the Nintendo Game Boy! I also spotted a PlayStation 5 console going for just $350—not a bad price at all! There is a loose cartridge of Tiny Toon Adventures that I might just have to pick up for my own collection, and a beautifully done custom Game Boy reshell for $75.
Perhaps the coolest thing I saw on the floor tonight is an entire interactive setup featuring Mario Kart RC cars racing on a massive, real-life Mario Kart track. It is such a brilliant idea!
Final Prep for Show Day
We've still got a little bit of pricing work we need to finish up tonight, and I have a couple of final 3D prints that I need to pull off the printer beds back home. But overall, the RoXolid Productions booth is completely locked, loaded, and ready to go for tomorrow morning. If you are in the Central Illinois area, tomorrow is June 6th, 2026. Come out to the Interstate Center in Bloomington, Illinois, for the 2026 Illinois Game Con!
