We Built a DIY Sonos-Style Raspberry PI Based Audio Amplifier for $158.10

Over the course of the last few months we have been on a quest. A quest to build a DIY Sonos-Style Raspberry PI based audio amplifier out of components we've purchased from all over the web. We started with a Raspberry PI and a Class D Audio amplifier board purchased off eBay, and then started piling on components from there. We struggled with noise caused by DC-DC converters. We struggled finding the correct Digital Potentiometer.

But we finally put together a pretty awesome audio amplifier! This little amplifier can receive bluetooth, spotify and airplay, and it has an external audio input! The final tally for all of the components in the build is $158.10, which is quite a bit less than an official Sonos amplifier.
