The Sultan of Selangor. 21 Police Reports. One Facebook Post | Maraz TV News

An edited image of a pig dressed in royal attire, uploaded on April 25 via a Facebook account under the name "Huayan The Pureland Learning Centre," has triggered 21 police reports nationwide. Bukit Aman's Criminal Investigation Department director, M Kumar, confirmed the account owner has been identified and the device used to upload the post has been seized. The case is being investigated under three offences: inciting public unrest, intentionally insulting others in a way that could provoke a breach of peace, and improper use of network services.

The post comes against the backdrop of a heated ongoing debate over pig farming in Selangor. In February, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah made clear he did not consent to pig farming in any district in the state, citing pollution, river contamination, and social concerns. The issue flared up again last week when a Selangor assemblyman defended calls for modern closed-system pig farming — drawing sharp criticism from opposition lawmakers who said it went against the sultan's decree. Police have warned that firm action without compromise will be taken against anyone who misuses social media on matters related to race, religion, and the royal institution.
