San Diego: I-805 Strange Crash 05252024

Our witness told us that the male driver of the Yukon SUV crossed all lanes and left the freeway for unknown reasons. The SUV climbed up the steep embankment, climbing approx 70 feet. Once at the top of the ridgeline, the SUV hit a large Eucalyptus tree, severing it. The SUV then started to flip several times before coming to a stop along the fence line and on its roof.

The Good Samaritan climbed up the hill and administered first Aid to the victim. Firefighters extricated the male from the wreckage and had to walk him back down to the freeway. The male was transported to a local hospital in an unknown status. There were beer cans along the SUV’s trail up the hill, but it’s not known if DUI was a factor.
