How to use Microsoft Whiteboard | Essential Practices for Meetings

Learn how to use Microsoft Whiteboard for more productive Teams Meetings.
Learn the difference between the Microsoft Whiteboard App and the Whiteboard Teams app. You can create a new Whiteboard and collaborate with others live. You can even add a Whiteboard to a Team Channel.
You'll also learn where you can view the Microsoft Whiteboard after a meeting is over. How can you remove or delete a whiteboard and how to use more features such as inserting a PDF document in a whiteboard or an image. I'll also show you the pre-defined whiteboard templates available in the app.

One thing you need to be aware of: Not all features of the whiteboard app are available in Teams or Whiteboard for the web (at least not yet). This doesn't mean you can't use the Whiteboard app during a Teams meeting. You just need to inform the participants prior to the meeting that you'll be using the app instead of Teams Whiteboard. This way you can chat and talk via the Teams meeting as you collaborate on the Whiteboard app.

You can use Microsoft Whiteboard from your computer (it's available as a desktop app). You can use it from your phone or tablet. You can also access the Whiteboard from the web by logging in to your Office 365 account. It's also accessible from Teams.

When should you use a Whiteboard?
With many of us working remotely it has become difficult to brainstorm ideas. A great way to encourage teamwork while working online is to use a digital or virtual Whiteboard. The Whiteboard app is integrated into Microsoft Teams and it's the perfect tool to collaborate online on a shared digital canvas.
