How Useful Are Personas

They have many different names... persona, customer avatar, user profile, behavioural archetype and many more. The goal of all these is the same. To help you make better design decisions.

Recently personas have gotten a bad reputation and there is some heavy debate on how useful they are. So should you invest your time in creating a persona or should you just skip it?

In this video you'll learn some of this critique is coming from and if it's justified.

Allow you to make up your own mind if personas would be helpful in your project.

Spoiler alert! I still think the personas serve a very important goal which you can't go without in most service design project... now if you should use personas to achieve that goal is open for debate.
