MAHB unveils RM11bil airport upgrade plan

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) plans to invest about RM11 billion in capital expenditure over the next five years to expand capacity and upgrade infrastructure across its airport network, as it prepares for a new wave of development projects.

The airport project is aimed at helping industry players prepare for upcoming airport developments.

Key projects include the long-term expansion of Kuala Lumpur International Airport to support capacity beyond 100 million passengers annually.

MAHB is also expanding Penang International Airport, with capacity set to double to 12 million passengers from 6.5 million, while Kota Kinabalu International Airport will be upgraded to handle 12 million passengers from nine million.

The group said early engagement with contractors and suppliers will help strengthen industry readiness and support faster, higher-quality project delivery.
