How We Decide When an Athlete Can Run After ACL Surgery

When is it actually safe to start running after ACL surgery?

This session shows return-to-running testing using a structured battery of single-leg jump and hop tests. We are looking at side-to-side differences between the surgical and non-surgical leg across multiple variables that matter for sport.

Single-leg jumps, triple jumps, crossover hops, vertical testing, and repeated hop tests help us assess force production, force absorption, ground contact time, and tendon performance. Metrics like limb symmetry and RSI guide whether sprinting, acceleration, and change of direction can be introduced safely.

Progression is based on meeting clear criteria, not timelines. When the numbers line up, we move forward.

Book an assessment or talk with our team to learn how objective ACL testing fits into rehab and return to sport.
