Apollo 11 - 1969 Moon Landing - JFK 1961 Speech

On July 20th, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot upon the moon. This moment was broadcast live to nearly a billion people who watched it on television.

This pivotal milestone culminated from years of research and a goal set forth by President John F. Kennedy in May of 1961.

It took Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins four days to reach the moon as they blasted off from earth on July 16th, 1969.

According to NASA, Armstrong and Aldrin spent 21 hours and 36 minutes on the moon's surface.
