In 1973, comedian Jackie Gleason had an experience that deeply affected him, one he would later recount to his then-wife, Beverly. Gleason, known for his fascination with UFOs and the unexplained, returned home late one night from Homestead Air Force Base in Florida, looking pale and shaken. He told Beverly that President Richard Nixon, his friend, had arranged for him to visit a secure area on the base. There, he claimed to have seen something few ever would: the bodies of extraterrestrials.

According to Gleason, the visit began with a military escort through the base to a restricted building. Inside, he was led into a large room where four small alien bodies lay on separate tables. The beings, he said, were approximately two feet tall, with oversized heads, large ears, and leathery-textured skin. They appeared to have been embalmed, with no visible injuries. Gleason was told that the beings were from a crashed spacecraft, though no further details were provided. Despite his long-standing interest in UFOs, seeing the bodies in person left him deeply disturbed.

Gleason confided everything to Beverly that night, describing the scene in detail. Though he never spoke about the encounter publicly, Beverly later shared his account, recalling how deeply the experience impacted him. Gleason, a firm believer in UFOs and a critic of government secrecy on the topic, felt the public deserved to know the truth. His story, passed through Beverly and later published in The National Enquirer, remains one of the most well-known accounts linking a U.S. president to the mystery of extraterrestrial life.
