HOW TO BUILD YOUR SELF DISCIPLINE - NO EXCUSES BY BRIAN TRACY ANIMATED BOOK REVIEW
No Excuses The Power Of Self-Discipline by Brian Tracy is a guide forwarded towards individuals who seek to build self-discipline. Coupled with personal experience, in this Review I focus mainly on the concept of personal excellence & precisely on how to invest in yourself engaging in perpetual challenge.
Mini-tools : action versus thoughts. Think about how you are going to stand up, where you are going to sit, to start working, not of whether or not you are going to start. Assume you will start, only of how you are going to start, not whether or not you will.
- Action versus thoughts : if you catch yourself thinking whether or not you should do something, action beats thinking. Simply stand up, do a couple jumps, stretch a bit, yell, do something, don't think. Then just walk straight to your work place. Just do, don't think much. Learn to cut thinking with action. Start walking while you're thinking whether to start or not, then sit on that chair, open your laptop, and just begin to work. Action beats thinking.
Second mini tool : Accountability. It's a complement to deprivation. Sometimes depriving yourself by yourself is not enough. Someone with a severe porn addiction will eventually figure out a way to indulge even though he gave his router to the neighbor. For this, every time the urge arises, simply call a friend, like a break up buddy, someone you can trust and tell them how you feel at that moment. The cravings will be projected in the conversation, and the feeling goes away.
