Alec R. Costandinos Vol. 21: Americana (1981)

After Alec's unexpected rock production with Phil And The Blanks, he was back in more familiar territory with his Americana album, released early 1981, all rhythm instruments (drums, bass, guitar and keyboards) and lead- and backing vocals by himself. The energetic Something's Cookin' was the first single release, late 1980, followed by the Latin-flavoured title track to launch the album. While Alec himself did not have a hit with the song, French superstar Dalida covered it the same year, seeing the song soar to #13 in the French charts in the summer of '81.
