Why Language Learners Hate Anki

In my opinion Anki or any spaced repetition system is of great benefit to language learners. But many of us hate it and I've worked out why.

All of the things listed below can be of benefit to you as well as helping me make better language learning videos. You're awesome, thank you.

PATREON: This video started life as a very different script in which I calmly explain how I came to think of the Three-90 deck.

One of my favourite language learning apps is called SPEAKLY. Get 40% off any premium membership and help me make better videos by using the appropriate code (6 months or more include all languages no matter which you choose, though you still need to use the appropriate code to the language you click on):
ENGLISH: FNS1
SPANISH: FNS2
FRENCH: FNS3
GERMAN: FNS4
ITALIAN: FNS5
RUSSIAN: FNS6
ESTONIAN: FNS7
FINNISH: FNS8

Another one of my favourite apps is called Drops. It won't teach you a language but it will definitely add some interesting vocabulary to your repertoire. For example, they just added "animal noises", which seems silly but you know what noise a horse makes, right? Now do it in your target language.

I have genuinely been looking forward to using Anki every day for language learning, because just a little bit of it is so effective. Anki is a very powerful tool to learn a language.

The native speaker tutoring shown in my videos is through iTalki. You can get $10 credit applied to your account when you make your first purchase, or you can just check it out for free using this link, which also helps me out by allowing me to take more language lessons:

Other YouTubers whose videos are shown in this video:
Nathaniel Drew (pretends to learn languages in short times... doesn't)
Eric Wen (awesome videos about using your personality well)
The Bliss Bean (productivity and note taking and stuff)
Study Quill (study for stuff... she just has cool notebooks really)
Livakivi (excellent language youtuber)
Matt vs. Japan (this clip was from a Refold Patreon Q&A)
Cluee News (Swedish internet news and infotainment channel)
Clara Henry (Swedish TV celebrity, former YouTuber)
I don't need to say that last one. But he's Swedish.

OK if you've reached the end of the description then you need something to do. The Swedish for "to reinvent the wheel" appears twice in this video. What is it? (Google translate won't be the answer from the video, I checked.)
