As Tom drove down the winding country road, he spotted a small dog lying in the grass by the roadside. The dog looked injured, and Tom pulled over to investigate. Approaching the dog, Tom saw that its paw was bleeding and it appeared to be in pain.
The poor dog hastily crawled after him, he was friendly and cheerful, begging for help. The dog looked up at Tom with pleading eyes, and Tom knew he had to do something to help. Carefully lifting the injured dog, Tom brought it to his car and drove straight to the veterinarian's office.
The vet examined the dog and confirmed that it had a broken paw, but with proper care, it would heal quickly. Despite its pain, the dog was friendly and affectionate, wagging its tail and nuzzling up to Tom.
