A3609222 Minnie

A3609222 Minnie is a heartbreaker of a 14-year-old white-brown-champagne female Lhasa Apso and Border Terrier mix whose owners surrendered her to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 23rd because, they said, she was old. Severely underweight at 9 lbs, this little girl, who basically looks like a pitiful Ewok, can walk on leash but would rather be in someone’s arms getting her head scratched. Minnie is, however, in rough shape at this point, exhibiting signs of having been neglected and suffering some pain. We hope an adopter or rescuer will come forward to save Minnie and give her the concentrated TLC she sorely needs—someone who appreciates a tiny, older lady who deserves to get her the care she so needs, and who will address her need to gain about 30% more body weight. Because Minnie is quite sensitive to being touched right now, we are recommending her for homes with adults and dog-savvy teenagers only. We believe Minnie will be ever loyal and loving toward that special person or family who gets her to good health and makes her life comfortable and safe.

Mission:
United Hope for Animals is dedicated to reducing homelessness among companion animals through spay/neuter, shelter support, photography, video and networking of shelter animals in Southern California. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
