Mormors Favoritvals ( Grandmother’s Favourite ) interpreted and performed by Anao Atao using a fusion of ancient and modern instrumentation. From their 1998 album, Poll Lyfans ( Frogpool ).
Album notes:-
We learned this tune from a gathering of fiddlers one short summer night in Sweden. It was written by a shoemaker by the name of August Stromberg who was born in 1860 in the village of Jat in the south of Smaland.
Formed in 1989, Anao Atao were Kyt & Soazig Le Nen Davey , together with their family and guest musicians. Their instrumentation was broad and included the following: accordian , mandolin , piano , bombarde , biniou coz , banjo , Irish flute , harp , crowdy crawn , Bb & bass clarinets , soprano sax , accoustic & bass guitars , flute , viola , tenor sax, recorder , fiddle , pipes , vocal and percussion.
