Some places in Canada are truly stunning, no matter the season...

Back in December, I decided to do a day trip outside of Winnipeg to check out beautiful northwestern Ontario in winter. Along the way, I stopped at the Longitudinal Center of Canada, just a short 10-minute drive outside of Winnipeg, where I stood exactly halfway between the west coast of British Columbia and the east coast of Newfoundland.

Two hours later, I arrived in Kenora - one of my favourite towns in Ontario - where I visited the excellent Lake of the Woods Brewing Company for a flight of beer, took a stroll along the waterfront, and relived some childhood memories of my visit here back in 2001. If you've never been to this beautiful part of Canada, put it on your bucket list.
