Mexico's SECRET ISLAND NATURE RESERVE (Isla Espiritu Santo) | La Paz, Baja California Sur #sealions

Isla Espiritu Santo is unlike anywhere on Earth outside of the Galapagos Islands, featuring biodiversity that you won't find anywhere else on the continent. This secret island paradise rests off the coast of Baja California Sur in the Sea of Cortez, and was one of the highlights of my visit to the La Paz area. I teamed up with Tuna Tuna Tours for a full-day excursion to this protected nature reserve to experience its wild biodiversity in action. This is one of the BEST tours in the La Paz area, and I'd highly recommend this excursion.

After a 45 minute boat ride off the coast, I had the rare opportunity to snorkel surrounded by dozens of curious wild sea lions (including one who attacked my GoPro!), colorful schools of fish, and endless hills of colourful coral. After, we called at a remote white sand beach with stunning turquoise waters, snorkelled above centuries-old shipwrecks with giant sea turtles, and enjoyed the rugged beauty of this natural gem, located just 45 minutes by boat from La Paz harbour.
