This video shows how I installed a range hood all by myself. This task could have been completed much more quickly had I had a helper/an extra pair of hands, but you don’t really require two people for this job. The extra work that I needed to do because I didn’t have a helper was to create a template to know exactly where to drill the holes for the screws that will hold the vent hood in place.

Questions: How can you tell which wire is hot and which wire is neutral when they are both the same color?
Answer: Ribbed wire is neutral (often white color) and smooth wire is hot (often black color).
