4K Cab Ride NL Hoorn - Alkmaar - Haarlem - Amsterdam / SPR 4844 / 05-05-2019

Cab ride on the sprinter service from Hoorn to Amsterdam via Alkmaar and Haarlem. This is a special ride because we will take lots of festival people to Haarlem on our way to that station. Why? Well, the 5th of May is Liberation Day in Holland!

We depart perfectly on time from Hoorn. As you can see we directly enter the single-tracked line. The train coming from Amsterdam has an 11 minute delay because it's very busy in and around Haarlem. This means we have to wait at Obdam until the other train has arrived. Giving us a 5 minute delay too. From that moment on we keep the train on it's maximum speed until we need to limit our speed again.

As you will see we are back on time as soon as we arrive in Heiloo. And this is perfect, because lots of party people will start boarding the train from that moment on. Delayed trains always mess with peoples emotions, and we don't want that in our train.

Starting in Uitgeest you can see loads of people are boarding the train. From that moment on I help the train manager with the proces of closing the doors. I get out of the train to make sure everyone has boarded the train and then give a signal to the train manager it's safe to close the doors as for what I can see from my cabin. Because we do this we can make all our stops perfectly on time.

At our arrival in Haarlem you can see that we get lead unto a different track than normally. This was done because we had soms extra trains running between Leiden and Haarlem. Extra space needed to be created for that.

I hope you enjoy this great ride again. Oh and btw: as you might see... the video has been downgraded from 60fps to 30fps. This because the camera constantly got overheated during the longer videos as soon as the sun shines into the cabin. The 30fps will make the signal lights sometimes disappear as well. So no, you won't see any broken signals. Thats because of the lower framerate.
