Spooky White Powders: Common additives & chemicals used in making wine, mead, cider, & beer at home

There are a lot of new brewers spooked by seeing white powders, brown powders, and foamy liquids being used in the brewing process. There's so much stuff that can be used to brew. Do you need any of this stuff? Of course not (well, maybe StarSan)! Is it spooky? Of course not! In fact, some of it is very, very helpful in a lot of circumstances. In this video, we talk through bentonite, sparkolloid, whirlfoc, potassium metabisulphite, potassium sorbate, StarSan, calcium carbonate, Fermaid-O, diammonium phosphate, Go-Ferm, tannin, and more! Let's talk about what they do, how they do it, and when it's the right time to use them! Understanding brewing additives is the key to not being AFRAID of them. Remember: those telling you brewing additives are spooky... might have a spooky agenda of their own (profit, it's always profit).
