The Salute scared the sky rats! The GL Ostrander Integrity Arriving Duluth with Cement August 29 2021
The gulls did not seem to be phased by the "don't feed the gulls" speech, the Ostrander Captain's Salute did get their attention. I may be giving them a little too much credit, but thinking they would be relatively used to the ship salutes ? They are mostly used to people strolling by them.
The GL Ostrander making their fourth arrival to Duluth this season. Arriving with cement for the LaFarge dock in Superior. They arrived 8/29/2021 8:46:00 AM and spent the next 34.9 hours at LaFarge discharging. With their 4 visits, they are averaging 34.8 hours at the dock. To date they have spent 145 hours in port, of those hours 139.3 hours spent discharging. 6.3 hours spent between the piers and the dock on arrival and departure.

Her Story

Integrity was paired with the tugboat Jacklyn M. in mid-1996, and the pair entered service for Lafarge on August 6, 1996, departing Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, for Alpena, MI, to load cement. Upon the pair entering service, the older steamers E. M. Ford and S. T. Crapo were laid up for the final time at the end of the season.
The tug was renamed G. L. Ostrander in 2004 after an executive at Lafarge.
The Integrity / G. L. Ostrander continue to serve Lafarge cement, being operated and managed by Andrie, Inc. of Muskegon, MI.
