"Heavy Metal" - Memorable Detecting Trip With Deep (and Shallow) Finds

In this episode I was detecting a dark, mysterious forest and came across a few heavy iron finds!
I was there for the first time. One thing I've noticed right away was the fact that the area has already been detected (I only need a few coil swings to tell). The "billhook" on the surface was also a good indicator.
In this case, with (probably) many "clues" missing, only iron could tell the story of this place.

It seems that I got very lucky at the beginning, finding the very old looking ring. The second item (close by) made of iron seemed related. I believe, both are part of the same horse bit.
In the later stage I was able to find a second, very similar looking bronze ring (further away). Do both belong to the same item? I don't know...

It was a day with some "heavy metal" finds like this billhook, or two horseshoes. The second one could have been made in 18th century, the smaller one looks older. 16th century old?...

All in all it was a great, memorable trip.
