Renovating our house in Provence = opening a new kitchen - part 2

After Andy got on so well during his first day's work, getting the first 2 supports in place - the work has progressed well over the last 2 days. The little video shows the work to put in the third support and then to start creating the opening that will be doors opening onto the top terrace.
Removing the 'enduit' we found that there had previously been 2 doors opening onto the terrace - their wooden lintels still in place, but drilling through into the buanderie saw the first shafts of natural light it has seen for many years.
This is a work in progress, but the difference that those first shafts of light made were incredible and gave us a real sense of what we had planned and what the new kitchen will look like, once it is all opened up and in place.
Renovating an old house is always a bit of a magical mystery tour as you never know what you will find, and getting to grips with new french building techniques is also a learning curve. But so far so good.
