How To Make a Hand Ring

What upp! What up everybody. So today I'm going to show you how to make this little hand ring.

I thought I lost my original one. Luckily I found it and we are going to use this as the template.

So I flattened it out and traced it on this dope little notebook. I'll get a little template for you guys in the description. Link to template: http://bit.ly/2q1GOo2

After you cut out the template, get your silver and tape the paper on there. and just trace it. It was pretty light so i went over it again with a sharpie.

Take some metal shears and cut it out. The more you cut it out right now the better; because it will be easier to cut out than filling it down.

Be sure and save the scraps cause it is silver and you can probably get some cash for it.

Then i just took a file and filed it down.. and like i said it is easier to cut it off.. and even easier if you have a dremel or rotary tool. thats what i used to get all the little details and get the hand shaped and the fingers shaped in.

I bent the fingers back to get in the cracks there. the finger crotch.

I just drew on the details with a pencils and it showed up pretty good. Then you can scratch out or engrave in the silver with a file. Butttt.. its pretty hard and you'll have to go over it a lot with a file.

So i just used the dremel.

Then i used sandpaper to smooth it down so i can wear it with out scratching me.

Bend it as much as i can then to get it round i put it on a mandrel and hit it with a hammer.

Some final touches with sandpaper.. and viola.. cute little hand ring

It will age real nicely but to speed it up i use this sulfur stuff to oxidize it. It gets it nice and black. then I use sand paper to shine up all the places except the grooves. Gives it a nice aged look.

You can stamp in letters on the fingers to give it a "tattoo" and to do that i just used these letter stamps..

Also if you don't have a mandrel, bend it as much as you can then take something round, put the ring on and pound it with a hammer.
