Waltzing Among The Wattles! Zig Zag Railway's AC16 218a Climbs Viaduct No 1

As part of our new documentary series on the wonderful Zig Zag Railway re-opening, I'm gradually releasing some short highlight clips captured on this spectacular narrow gauge railway in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales.

Images shot in HD on the Sony FS5 with the G Master 18-110mm servo zoom then processed in Topaz VAI before a light grade in DaVinci Resolve. Audio captured in 24 bit stereo PCM using a pair of 48v phantom powered Rode super-cardioid microphones.

I'm guiding a series of small group, narrow gauge rail tours to Taiwan and Japan. Highlights of the Taiwan tour is a visit to the spectacular Alishan Forest Railway which climbs from sea level to 2.200m in just 75 kilometers and on special occasions, still operates a Shay geared locomotive!
