How to Open Nissan Altima Hood?

Opening the hood of your Nissan Altima is a straightforward two-step process. Begin by locating the primary hood release lever inside the cabin. This is typically found on the driver's side, low down under the dashboard, often near the door sill or footwell, and might be marked with a car icon showing the hood open. Pull this lever firmly; you should hear a "pop" sound as the hood slightly disengages. Next, proceed to the front of the vehicle. The hood will now be slightly ajar. You must now find the secondary safety latch. This latch is usually located underneath the front edge of the hood, often near the center or slightly to the driver's side. You may need to gently lift the hood a little and feel for a small lever or tab. Once located, push or pull it to the side (the direction can vary by model year) while simultaneously lifting the hood fully. Finally, locate the prop rod, typically attached to the underside of the hood or within the engine bay, and secure it into the designated hole to hold the hood safely open.
