1 Panzer IV vs 14 T-34s - An Iconic Tank Battle Of WW2 | Battle of Prokhorovka, Kursk

The Battle of Kursk was one of the biggest tank on tank battles in the history of armoured warfare. For several days, hundreds of Soviet and German tanks clashed against each other on the vast plains of the Soviet Union.

One of those tanks was commanded by junior company commander Rudolf von Ribbentrop, who saw major action with the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler near the town of Prokhorovka.

After six tiresome days of heavy fighting the II SS Panzer Corps, under the command of SS-senior group leader Paul Hausser was located in the vicinity of Prokhorovka.

The day after, July 12, 1943 would see one of the most iconic tank battles of the Eastern Front and possibly of the entire war.
