Examples of The Locrian Mode in "Popular" Music!

Locrian is the 7th Mode based off of a parent Major Scale.

The formula is 1 b2 b3 4 b5 b6 b7

The chords are idim (or m7b5) II iii iv V VI7 vii

It has a minor 2nd and diminished 5th and sounds very dissonant. Because of this, it isn't often found in Popular music.

The examples used in this video are:

Painkiller: Judas Priest (Intro)

Army of Me: Bjork

Juicebox: The Strokes (Bass Line)

Dust To Dust: John Kirkpatrick
