Episode 1 - Campaign for a statue to commorate Kiwi war hero, Sir Keith Park, Defender of London
Sir Keith Park was Air Vice Marshal of the Royal Air Force 11 Group Fighter Command the squadrons which bore the brunt of the Battle of Britain. Sir Keith Park led from the front, overseeing every sortie and scramble, pioneering fighter Command and Control.

He had left no doubt in the mind of Air Chief Marshal Hugh Dowding, that he was up to the task, after having commanded the RAF forces protecting the Dunkirk evacuation.

Sadly within weeks of winning the Battle of Britain, a seceret cabal was formed to maneuvre Dowding and Park from office, their victory was overshadowed, and they did not receive proper honours.

Dowding and Park should be mentioned in the same breath as Chuchill, Montgomery and Patton, and this memorial should encourage people to find out more about their amazing achievements.
