How to Hide Secret Data in Images – Steganography Part 2

#cryptology, #cryptography, #cryptanalysis

In this video, we have a look at "steganography" and the new components to perform image steganography in CrypTool 2. Steganography is the practice of hiding a message in a container medium.

In this 2nd video, we have a look at image steganography to hide data in digitial images. First, we discuss the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method. Then, we have a look at the Bit Plane Complexity Segmentation (BPCS) method, which allows a higher hiding capacity. Finally, we have a look at how to use these methods with components implemented in CrypTool 2.

For technical details of the steganography techniques, have a look at the Bachlor thesis of Sally Addad: https://www.cryptool.org/assets/img/ctp/documents/BA_Addad.pdf
