A very popular and delicious fish we carry most of the time is halibut. The North Atlantic Halibut is a right eye flounder and the largest flatfish in the world. They are primarily found off the North Atlantic coasts from Labrador and Greenland to Iceland, and as far south as Virginia.🌬🌊

Halibut is a ground fish living on or near sand, gravel or clay bottoms at depths of between 160 and 6,560 ft. and can reach 15 feet in length and weigh more than 500 lbs. The diet of the Atlantic halibut consists mainly of other fish, e.g. cod, haddock, herring, pogge, sand eels and capelin, but it will also eat squid, octopus and large crustaceans.

Halibut can be made into filets, as you see in this video, for roasting, baking and cooking in a sauté pan, or cut into cross section steaks that cook great on the grill.
