Transforming agricultural economy to improve quality of life. | Will McFarland | TEDxYouth@BISHCMC

By looking at trees planted for toilet paper production and lower quality coffee that ends up in 3-in-1 sachets, an environmental economist explains how producing better goods could improve the quality of life in Vietnam, and the planet. Will is an economist working on climate change and agriculture, as well as the owner of a gym in Ho Chi Minh City. Originally from London, UK, he is currently based in Vietnam. He works throughout Asia to solve one of the world's most complex issues: how to prevent dangerous climate change while allowing 9 billion+ people to lead good lives. Will's talk focuses on agriculture transformations in Vietnam. He discusses how we can get out of the trap of producing rubbish 'things' in order to improve our quality of life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
