Wallasmulle Govi Seva, is an agricultural produce business venture founded by Keshan Dheerasinghe along with his friend to empower the livelihoods of the farmers. Initiated in Kirama area in Hambanthota district, A rural village where agriculture and farming are the primary occupations in most households. However, there is no site in the area where you can get agricultural supplies. The primary motive of Wallasmulle Gowi Seva was to bridge this gap in the village. Moving forward with sufficient background knowledge of the founders in agricultural field assistance, the venture has now expanded its services into providing consultancy services for farmers in need. At present, Keshan is being mentored by CurveUp as a part of HackaDev Enterprise Support Programme (HESP) by UNDP, to further build and establish his venture to serve his purpose effectively.

Keshan says, taking part in the Technopreneurship for social change programme facilitated by UNDP in collaboration with HackaDev was what inspired them to kick start their business idea that will not only make the lives of farmers easier but also earn them profits in the long run. Started with small scale projects in agriculture, Keshan and his friend now handles much large-scale projects that focus on sustainability and help crops and livestock flourish in a better way. The dedicated work of this duo is admirable and appreciated!

CurveUp is currently working with HackaDev Enterprise Support Programme powered by UNDP, to empower selected young, rural, social, micro and macro entrepreneurs by providing them with coaching, mentoring and necessary training to build and establish their enterprises.
