The Copal 801 flip clock played a role in a film classic from the 1980s.

Back to the Future - a 1985 science fiction film starring Michael J. Fox, and Christopher Lloyd.

Very likely, you've heard of the "Back to the Future Flip Clock" - The clock that appeared on the shelf on the headboard of Marty McFly's bed - The Panasonic RC-6015.

But did you know that this was not the first flip clock to appear in the movie?

The opening scene of the first movie in the "Back to the Future" Trilogy shows a vast array of clocks at the home of Doc Brown.

And there it is. The first flip clock to appear in "Back to the Future" - the Copal 801.

The Copal 801 is very hard to find online but is worth the time and effort to acquire.

The flip tiles are probably the largest in the Copal Line up – very impressive.
