My biracial kids went shopping alone in Finland | Yoruba Pikin help their parent in doing shopping

My wife is traveling in the next few weeks, so I started to think about how I am going to cope during her absence, I can't take the kids to shop all the time, because it's stressful sometimes.
At that moment, I wanted them to grow up very fast so that I can start sending them on errands😊 this would allow me to multitask and reduce stress whenever I am alone with them.
Therefore I told them that I wanted to go to the shop and I do not want them to come with me, Yacoob jumped up and asked me if it's possible to help me with the shopping, so that I can finish preparing their favorite, rice and stew with fried plantain " ìrẹ̀si àti ọbẹ̀ ata pẹ̀lú dòdò,"
That's amazing right? why won't he, we live in a country where children are taught to be self confident and live an independent life, Taiwo and Kehinde agreed to join him in the quest
Even though I was eager to see what is going to be the outcome, the African parent in me was in doubt 😂, I started to question myself, questions like what kind of parent are you, why are you sending them to shop alone, what if they get kidnapped, what if something happens? started to flood my head?
Fear sets in, I began to question my parental skills,  but then I remembered that we live in a very safe environment, my fear quickly disappeared, but then I was wondering about how they are  going to be able to remember  the  grocery lists, since they can't read at the moment 🤔🤔🤔, are you surprised to hear that?

So let's talk about the Finnish education system

THE FINNISH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

My boys are age 6,5,5 so they can't read at the moment, Finnish children don’t start school until they are 7-years-old, yet they go on to become great readers.  Are we teaching our kids to read too early? My plan is to start to teach them how to read and write in Yoruba when they start school at the age of 7. So,I am strictly following the Finnish learning curriculum.

Finland was one of the top performing nations when tests were first done to compare the academic abilities of children in different countries. They did particularly well in the tests for reading, yet they don’t start school until they are 7 years old.

Perhaps younger children just aren’t mature enough for reading instruction and they should be spending more time engaged in free play?  Maybe they would be more receptive to learning if we left it until they were a couple of years older?

Finland early childhood education is based mostly on activities that involve play, with a  curriculum of academic skills that includes laying the foundations for reading & arithmetic.

Small class sizes have been shown to make a significant difference to academic achievement, particularly for younger children.

In the Finnish model of education, preschool children who are more advanced are helped to develop their skills further, and all children are screened for special needs so they can get extra support as soon as they start school.

And children who aren’t making the expected progress are given regular extra support by qualified teachers with specialist training.

IN CONCLUSION
Environment was safer, just like what we used to have back then in Nigeria, in my home town of Saki, " ogun o rokin àgbède o ro baba" mum used to send me on errands, No card payment,  were living in a cash driven society and economy, cash payment was the popular means of payment,  and I would turn the grocery list into a fabulous songs, for example "akara kan, eko meji, bread kan, eyin mefa 🎶 😊.

Going to the market , you will sing the grocery list as  a song and u there not answer your friend on your way to the market to avoid forgetting the content 😂, because if u do, then you are in soup, it never occurred to me as a child to use Yacoob system to remember everything, even though I was also a very good artist as a child, he inherited the skills from me 😊.

In Finland, when am sending Yacoob to the shop, he came up with a genius way to remember everything by using his artistic skills and draw everything on a piece of paper, like that he doesn't need to sing the content as a song but rather check them on the piece of paper that he had earlier drew them on.
May God return peace to our society so that our children can move freely without any panic.
