Live Tech Learning - Testing LetsEncrypt on IIS with Autorenew. Will it work??

Today I am going to be installing a testing out the win-acmeV2 client to see how it works and if I can get an SSL Certificate to autorenew. https://www.win-acme.com/

I have spun up a test server on Azure just so it is easier rather then using my local lab. This way I am not forwarding ports through into my local network.

I have not done this before so I am not sure if it will work, but I will update the video description to show if I have been successful or not, basically this is how to learn, so I am recording myself learning.

My current theory of how it is going to work is that because we have the WIN-ACME client running on the same server it should be able to update whatever webpage it needs to update so it can automatically validate the Lets Encrypt certificate. This will be different then how I have been doing it because I have been using DNS verification not HTTP verification. I guess we will just see how it goes.

**AFTER VIDEO UPDATE**
So it turns out that autoupdate is actually quite easy, you just need to have an internet browsable website so it can autoupdate using HTTP authentication.

So that is how you actually learn how to do things with technology you actually do it.

The basic idea behind my Live Tech Learning series is that I find trial and error a great way to learn things. I also see that a lot of people need to follow instructions and I have the ability to just jump in and learn. This is a great skill to have and I want to share my process of testing things out and learning things.

As a tech professional testing out new products and learning how things work to keep up with what is the latest in the industry is a must. If you want to be a "tech professional" and be on the top of your game you need to just get in and learn. It is your responsibility to keep your knowledge growing and not getting out of date!!
