Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge’s were caught sharing a rather "romantic" gesture as they listened to the wedding performer Ellie Goulding during the Christmas Carol concert. Commentator Rachel Bowie said Prince William seemed really "proud" of the Duchess’s effort for the concert. During the special service, Kate also surprised everyone with a piano performance for Tom Walker’s song For Those Who Can't Be Here. The Royally Obsessed host said: “This just made me shiver. I think it’s Ellie Goulding performing and there is a moment in this clip where Kate and William exchange glances and William kind of lingers a little bit longer. "I am just..the take away from this is, I am really sure he is really proud of her. "I think everyone had a lot going on so.” Co–host Roberta Fiorito added: “They kind of raise eyebrows. “It’s so tender and sweet and fast because we know, they probably know they are on camera.” The royal couple was caught sharing an adorable glimpse after Ellie Goulding's performance for the carol service that aired on ITV on Christmas Eve. Tom Walker, who performed as Kate played, said: "It was very secret, very secret–even the studio didn’t know what was going on. We were sitting on opposite sides of the room for Covid, rehearsing. "So, we got together, we rehearsed the song like nine times and by the end of it she’d absolutely nailed it, and then she went away for a couple of days and practiced it, and then we finally got to do the recording of it.” Mr Walker also shared details of when the Duchess offered him to perform with her at the concert. He said: "Without doubt, it was a once in a lifetime experience. "I thought she absolutely smashed the performance; it's not easy to just jump behind a piano with a bunch of musicians you've never played with before and record live takes to the camera, but she completely nailed it. The singer described Kate as a "warm–hearted, lovely person”. The Duchess said in a message recorded before the event: "We wanted to say a huge thank you to all those amazing people out there who have supported their communities. "We also wanted to recognise those whose struggles perhaps have been less visible, too. "We've been through such a bleak time. We've seen so many challenges. We've lost our loved ones. "We've seen our frontline workers under immense pressure. "And also we've been more emotionally and socially distanced and isolated from each other. "But I suppose through that separation, we've also realised how much we need each other and how acts of kindness and love can really bring us comfort and relief in times of distress."
