Robotic Roll Former Tending

The Sheet Roller Tending Robot project, involved the handling of 15kg corrugated, curved sheet metal as it exited from a roll-forming machine. It is collected by the ABB IRB 6640 robot and placed onto a pallet for packing.

The Sheet Roller Tending Robot is a new robotic system developed from existing and new subsystems to pick corrugated and curved sheets directly from a roll-former line and stack them neatly for storage and shipping. In addition the system is also able to tend a Top Angle Roll-Former placing the galvanised angles into storage racks.
