Britain uses ‘dirty old coal’ to get through after being ‘caught short’ with renewables
Britain used “dirty old coal” to get them through after being “caught a bit short” amid trouble with renewables, according to Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“The wind didn’t blow, demand was pretty high, and Britain had more demand for electricity than supply,” he said.
“So guess what it did, it fired up, wait for it, it fired up a couple of old coal-fired power stations.”
Mr Kenny discussed the events with Resources Minister Keith Pitt.
"The UK is just the tip of the iceberg," Mr Pitt said.
