Many students find particle physics confusing when they first begin learning this topic because of all the new key terms that we introduce.
Leptons are fundamental or elementary particles, as they are not made of anything smaller (as far as we know).
Electrons, muons, and tau particles (along with their associated neutrinos) are leptons.
