Russia recruits reservists to protect key oil sites against drones

Russia’s Leningrad region will recruit reservists to form units protecting critical infrastructure, including the Baltic ports Ust-Luga and Primorsk, from drone attacks attributed to Ukraine. New units will guard enterprise premises and key facilities, with contracts ranging from two months to several years. The move follows intensified Ukrainian drone assaults that have disrupted Russia’s oil exports, and reports that Russia intercepted 11,211 Ukrainian drones in March, nearly double February’s figure. Separately, the Kremlin said Europe is increasingly involved in the conflict and published a Defence Ministry list of drone-production sites across Europe and Britain; Medvedev framed the list as potential targets and urged partners to “sleep well,” while Peskov declined to confirm whether Russia would strike European targets. The Defence Ministry warned against European plans to increase drone supplies to Ukraine.
