2012 Transit of Venus – Stunning Footage #shorts

In June 2012, the rare Transit of Venus occurred — Venus passed directly in front of the Sun, appearing as a tiny black dot slowly drifting across its bright disk. 🌞🪐
This alignment happens in pairs more than a century apart. The last pair took place in 2004 and 2012. The next transits won’t be visible until December 2117 and 2125 — meaning anyone alive today will never see another one.
Captured by telescopes worldwide, space-based observatories (like NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory), and amateur astronomers, the event provided valuable scientific data on exoplanet atmospheres, historical calibration of the astronomical unit, and breathtaking visuals of our solar system in motion.
In this video: real footage and time-lapses from the 2012 transit, explanation of why it’s so rare, what we learned, historical significance (Captain Cook’s 1769 expedition), and why the 2117 transit will be the next chance for future generations.
