Long March-2C Launches Algerian AlSat-3B Success

China’s Long March-2C rocket successfully launches Algerian satellite from Jiuquan – boosting disaster prevention capabilities! 🚀🛰️🇩🇿🇨🇳
On January 31, 2026, at 12:01 p.m. Beijing Time, the reliable Long March-2C lifted off from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (Inner Mongolia), deploying AlSat-3B — a high-resolution remote sensing satellite built by China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) for the Algerian Space Agency. The satellite was placed into its planned orbit flawlessly, joining AlSat-3A (launched Jan 15) to form a powerful duo for optical Earth observation.
AlSat-3B will support land planning, disaster prevention and mitigation (floods, earthquakes, wildfires), environmental monitoring, and resource management across Algeria — a key step in Africa's growing space capabilities through China-Algeria partnership (following Alcomsat-1 comms sat in 2017).
In this video: launch footage (CCTV highlights), deployment confirmation, satellite specs, mission significance, and why this strengthens bilateral ties (Xi Jinping congratulated President Tebboune!).
