The Gym That's Changing Lives in California | Bear Grylls Visits Lord's Gym

We were in California scouting film locations and had an afternoon off. The hotel gym was a write-off, so we Googled "epic gym nearby" and up came The Lord's Gym.

I had to see it for myself.

What we found was something way beyond a gym. Brad, the owner, built this place from nothing. He's a man who went through homelessness, drug addiction, jail, and prison. The only thing that brought him out was finding a relationship with Christ and fellowship with other strong-minded men.

Now he's using that experience to help others. The Lord's Gym hosts AA meetings, NA meetings, Bible studies, and runs community outreach for the homeless and addicts in the area. The walls are covered in spray-painted murals of Christ. The iron is heavy. The spirit is real.

Brad told me that being strong means mind, body, and spirit. And that without Christ driving the car, he was crashing it constantly. Since inviting Him in, everything changed.

I've never met a strong person who's had an easy past. Brad is proof of that.

Next month marks one year of The Lord's Gym. Something beautiful is happening here.
