The primary day for the Island Bay Festival, which included the famous Parade, opening ceremony, live performances at Shorland Park, Blessing of the boats, and Birdman show at Island Bay Beach; were all held on the Sunday. A change to previous years where this part of the event was held on a Saturday. The Island Bay annual Festival returns after last year's 2022 festival which was cancelled due to COVID.
The Island Bay Festival is a fabulous annual event held during summer in February. Featuring local talent in an inclusive open environment supporting locals. Happy to be a resident in the beautiful suburb. Island Bay has its own unique special character. The location is and the things you can do in our suburb, is wonderful.
