The girl that never sleeps in the city that never sleeps - straight after the airport chaos I made my way to explore Times Square with a few others I was on a jewish program with! This is the day before the program started. We had so much fun, hope you enjoy coming along for the ride! ❤️

Here's the journal entry I wrote after the trip:

New York - Journal Entry 💌

It’s been 6 weeks in the city that never sleeps, it started off in chaos, with flight cancellations and a sleep deprived maskit, but a few days into my trip I started to feel like myself again. The reason I came here in the first place was for a Jewish learning program hosted by @ohrsommelbourne I learnt the value of community as people who’ve never met us opened up their homes and their hearts, speakers who devoted so much time and effort into answering our burning questions about all things life and spirituality. We had classes each morning and activities throughout the day, I went on a beautiful journey of growth alongside other like minded students, who I’ve become very close to. This program ended on the 27th of December, and my flight back to Australia was booked for the 8th of Jan, the only problem was I didn’t have accommodation for the remaining two weeks. Places that I had organised fell through - but I managed to find a room… only two days before the program ended. But everything happens for a reason. I ended up in an apartment with two of the sweetest and kindest people, Fallon and Sid made me feel so welcome and loved. We stood in the kitchen late at night talking for… who knows how long, went out for brunch and dinner and Fallon and I bonded over our love for Film & TV, storytelling and scriptwriting. What an adventure - I’ve made life long friendships, performed at open mics alongside super talented people who have backed me up, explored the city independently, dealt with difficult situations and challenges that have come my way, learnt lots and connected to who I am. If you’re thinking of travelling alone, or with a group you may have never met, just take a leap of faith and book the flight. You’ll look back and be grateful for the lessons you learnt and the memories you made.
